Happy 2020. Lets get a craft on!

Welcome to my crafty place. I'm Jane and I would like to share my crafting journey with you all.

I've been crafting now for 14 years and I blame my best friend who introduced me to this amazing world when she invited me along to a local craft group. The thing that hooked me in was watching someone stamping and then heat embossing the image. What is that I hear you ask, magic, simply magic. I plan to show you this technique in one of my future posts and possibly in a video as well.

I started with making cards for a number of years but that has evolved into anything and everything. At present I enjoy papercraft, scrapbooking and memory albums, mixed media, home décor, jewellery making, sewing, knitting and crochet. Basically anything I can get lost in and forget my stress and worries.

I am so lucky to have the most delightful family. I have an amazing husband, who is my rock and two children. Our son is 12, and he has Autism. In September he started a new school that will meet his educational needs as well as teach him important life skills. Our daughter is 8 (going on 18!!!) and she is so full of energy. She plays football for a local girls team so our Saturday mornings during the season sees us freezing over on the side-lines. At least she has fun which is the main thing. Both kids love to play with some of my crafty goodies from time to time and my daughter is attracted to bling like a Magpie!!!

Over the years there has been a lot of stress, from getting the right support for our son to family bereavement to general health. However getting lost in a craft project meant that  not only was I able to get some much need me time but it helped put things in perspective and ready to take on the next thing that came our way.

My main aim of this blog, and hopefully videos if I can get the technology to work, is to share my knowledge and inspire.  Also I hope that this can become a community which can support each other through our love of craft.

I am hoping to share with you all a simple card in my next post using my first love, stamps. Until then please feel free to add any comments and share this blog but most importantly keep crafting.

Hugs
Jane x
