Simply Thanks   Happy Tuesday everyone. Well after a fun relaxing Christmas everything is back to normal. Hubby has gone back to the office and the kids have gone back to school.   One thing I enjoy after Christmas is playing with any new crafty goodies I was given and making Thank You cards for friends and family.  I must say my Christmas/Birthday wish list (yes, I'm a Christmas Day baby) didn't contain to many fancy things. I was super happy to get the set of brush pens that I was after and a set of water brushes, but was over the moon with the little portable photo printer.  I started to get into making memory albums last year and this will make printing little photos I need sooooo much easier as me and our main printer never can see eye to eye!!!!   Today I would like to share a simple Thank You card I made using stencils, inks and a stamp. Using a stencil I find it can give you an amazing background with minimal work, perfect ...
Happy 2020. Lets get a craft on! Welcome to my crafty place. I'm Jane and I would like to share my crafting journey with you all. I've been crafting now for 14 years and I blame my best friend who introduced me to this amazing world when she invited me along to a local craft group. The thing that hooked me in was watching someone stamping and then heat embossing the image. What is that I hear you ask, magic, simply magic. I plan to show you this technique in one of my future posts and possibly in a video as well. I started with making cards for a number of years but that has evolved into anything and everything. At present I enjoy papercraft, scrapbooking and memory albums, mixed media, home décor, jewellery making, sewing, knitting and crochet. Basically anything I can get lost in and forget my stress and worries. I am so lucky to have the most delightful family. I have an amazing husband, who is my rock and two children. Our son is 12, and he has Autism. In September...

Hello to all. Well where has January gone..... Oh well even if I post monthly it will be more than last year! This last week I decided to do something just for me.  So after a bit of a clear out I though I'll have a go at a tag using a long lost template. I embossed the card using a Tim Holtz embossing folder and enhanced it using Victorian Velvet and Vintage Photo. To cover the mistake, or should I say my creative diversion, I added a bit of ribbon/lace. In my clear out I found some butterfly stamps, again long forgotten, so found some scrap of decorative paper, stamped the image and embossed it with some clear powder with a bit of bling in it. To finish it of a spritzed it with Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold and added a few pearls. Next, using Spellbinders Aster dies, I cut out my layers 3 times and put the together with a brad. To give me the shabby chic look I love I sprayed water on each layer scrunched the layers one at a time then gently pulled them a...

Happy New Year

Hi there.  Well what a last few months I have had of 2012.  The main thing was finding out, well basically confirmation, that our son, Alex has High Functioning ASD. So as a family we have a hill to climb with him but we will get there. My resolutions for 2013 - well I try not to make any as it only means that i will break them.  However this year I will try and eat more healthy, try and finish a load of Xmas cards that I started and never finished in 2012, and try to blog more.  I hope that by using the the word 'try' if I don't do manage it I can say "well at least I tried"! I hope you enjoy my 1st offering for 2013. A very simple "Thank You" card for my Aunt who sent the kids some money.  The SWALK image was coloured using my Spectrum Noir/Promarker pens along with the paper flowers, which were originally white. Most of my cards always need a bit of bling so I sprayed the flowers with spray and sparkle. The background paper was from my rather big ...
